On March 1950 Stalin approves to Kim II Sung’s (North Korea’s Leader) invasion in South Korea. On June 25th 1950 Kim invades South Korea and takes over. America takes action and has meeting to decide weather it should send military support or not. On June 27th 1950 the US finally decides to send navy and air forces to help South Korea. The United Nation also gets involved and declares North Korea as the aggressor.
The Americans troops go to battle at Osan (see map) but end up failing. The North Korean army ends up pushing The UN’s army farther back to Daejeon (100 miles south of Seoul). By August 4th 1950 the United Nations Army established ground in the Pusan Perimeter and suffers some brutal attacks. On September 27th 1950 Truman orders MacArthur to push his forces forward in North Korea until he is confident of victory. On october of 1950 US reaches Pyongyang. In 1951 China enter the Korean war too. After 2 years on July 27th United States and China agree on an Armistice and thus both sides declare victory and Korea remains divided.
This war was the first of the Many Hot wars that took place during the Cold War.
